Blogger launches 'Charity not Charlie' in response to Everett show

Charlie Sheen performs at the Fox Theatre in Detroit, Saturday, April 2, 2011. Promising "the real story," the 45-year-old former "Two and a Half Men" star hit the road for a month-long, 20-city variety show tour, with the first stop Saturday's sold-out show in Detroit. (AP Photo/Carlos Osorio)

Charlie Sheen is still scheduled to bring his show to Everett next month, and the publisher of a local blog is capitalizing on the craziness for a good cause.
Leland Dart launched 'Charity not Charlie,' in an effort to put a positive spin on Sheen's appearance.
"If you're not excited about Charlie coming to Everett, as I wasn't. Then do something positive, and donate to a charity. You pick which charity, you pick how much."
Dart says if you donate $25 or volunteer your time, instead of supporting Sheen, he'll put your name in a drawing for prizes like gift certificates to local restaurants.
"We want to keep it going and let people know you can make it into a positive."
Sheen's live show in Chicago Sunday went considerably better than his debut in Detroit.
The Chicago Sun Times reports the audience "appeared satisfied, if not exactly enthusiastic."
