When Redskins coach Mike Shanahan was asked at the NFL scouting combine in February about Jake Locker, he said the ex-Husky reminds him of former Pro Bowl quarterback Jake Plummer.

Sports Illustrated's Peter King, who joined Brock & Salk on Tuesday, offered a less flattering comparison.

"I'm worried that he's Kyle Boller," King said.

Boller was the 19th overall pick in 2003 despite completing just 47.8 percent of his passes in four years at Cal. He's played for three NFL teams in nine seasons and has a career 56.7 percent completion rate.

King lauded Locker's willingness to play through broken ribs last season but said similar accuracy concerns are too great to ignore.

"I have great respect for a guy who understands that the only chance his team has to win is by him playing even though he's in pain and he's hurting himself and he's hurting his pro future by doing it," King said, "which obviously he did this year by playing with broken ribs.

"But on the other hand, the stats are the stats. The guy in four years of college football completed 54 percent of his passes. That stinks. And if I'm a team looking at him, I've got to say, 'It's not just because he played a few games with broken ribs. He's just not an accurate enough passer.'"

    Enough with the Locker talk
The guy is gonna be a bust and it's gonna kill Softy and Brock. The Hawks have other needs to address, like at almost every position. Trade down and pick-up draft picks for next year which will hopefully be a better QB class.

This guy sucks. So does Hasselsuck. If all of these fans in Seattle were looking at this situation from the outside in they would agree. Instead they get defensive and like to claim that these guys are good just because they play in Seattle. It is comical in a way

    Sports Illustraded Peter King?.
What a Laugh Peter King is. Sports Illustraded is a Failed magazine(a real Joke of its self). So for Peter King to say that, he's just blowing smoke is about all he can do, his comparisons were Crap. Just another stats Moron.

    you guys...
constantly crowing about "accuracy issues" obviously didn't watch many Husky games. or, if you did you didn't pay much attention to ALL THE DROPS Jake's receivers made on perfectly catchable balls. add dropped balls into the factor with Jake and he's WAY underrated. he would be a PERFECT fit in Seattle. a player the city can get behind and grow with. all of his post-college, pre-NFL workouts have shown that his accuracy is NOT NEARLY as bad as everyone thinks, or wants to whine about. KEEP JAKE IN SEATTLE!!!

I played baseball with Tim and was decent friends with him up until he got really big and there is no comparison between Tim and Jake. Tim was the mother ___ing Golden Spikes winner for College baseball. That means he was the BEST PLAYER IN THE GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jake hardly completed 50 percent of his passes. Please retract that statement. It is people like you that drive me crazy. You have no statistics to back up your statement. You come on here and preach some stupid thing about how letting Jake go would be like letting Tim go. Tim Lincecum is a two time Cy Young winner and a World Series Champ! He is a Gatorade Player of the Year and the Golden Spikes Winner in college. He would throw a complete game on Friday and close the Sunday game. He is a freak of nature that has excelled above all competition at every single level. Jake wasnt even the best QB in the conference. When we played Wazzu people were tlaking about how he might not be the best in the state. You comparision is sickening.

For someone that supposedly has friends in high places, you sure come off as a MORON. I'm shocked you didn't just replay your canned Hasselbeck comments, because that's about all you are good for.

    Kyle Boller is too nice
Locker is gonna be the next Akili Smith. Seahawks should pass on him- unless he falls to the 4th round.

I figured you wouldn't have a good response to that. Because you like most come onto this site and say something stupid like "Go Jake, Your the best!" or "Matt Hass is still good despite every single stat indicating otherwise, YA!" Dude you need to become a real fan. Not someone that follows blindly and just likes a player because they grew up here or decided to sign here because we gave the most money. Instead you should like a player because they have earned your respect by helping deliver wins and bring some glory to this city. I for one am very very tired of being labeled the worst sports city in America for 3 consecutive years. I want to have something to root for in this city. This has caused me to start watching more and more of other teams games to see what they are dofing right that we are doing wrong. This is one of the biggest reasons I hate Hasselsuck so much. Because I consider him the least gifted and least talented QB in the NFL. He might be one of the smartest but it just don't translate. He can't run. He can't throw. He's not tough. He doesn't win. The only time he won was win THE TEAM AROUND HIM WAS PERFECT. When wee had to count on him he faltered. Much like Locker. You shouldn't be all that surprised that someone in this city is friends with Tim Lincecum. He did grow up in the area and being that I played baseball and used to be pretty good we played together for some time. And on that note. NEVER EVER compare Tim to Jake again. You sicken me
