Motopony play High Dive this weekend!

The first time I was blessed with the knowledge of Motopony's existence was when producer/mixer/super gifted keyboardist Buddy Ross reached out to me. He knew of me thanks to my illustrious career with night time radio program turned podcast tbtl, and he would invite me to show after show via the Facebook and after many replies from me with a 'maybe' (as i work late during the week and getting to any show's proved difficult) I was finally able to get to a Motopony show. Holy. Crap.
Daniel Blue, Buddy Ross, Brantley Scott Cady III and Forrest Mauvais aka Motopony, create music from another world. Another world where only awesome music lives and has no other mission but to creep inside of you and make sweet, sweet love to your heart. My heart has so many Motopony babies it's embarrassing.
These guys just signed a record deal, had awesome fat cat business deals/music making times in NYC and have their self-titled debut full length LP to be released May 24th. I'm telling you this is a record to own. Just take a listen to new single 'King of Diamonds', which you can also purchase from iTunes and tell me I'm wrong.
I had the oppotunity to visit Motopony at the Panther Palace V.2 and it turned into some weird therapy session for the boys. Listen below...

Mr. Oizo film Rubber: Brand new bloody trailer

A few days ago I told you about Mr. Oizo's new film Rubber, which I'm confident will be the best movie this year. Well, maybe the best movie that is about a tire with telepathic powers who takes to killing defenseless little animals and human beings. Just the other day I received an e-mail from mixer Bruce in Lake Stevens with a link to the redband trailer for Rubber. So. much. cooler. Check it...

New MSTRKRFT: 'Beards Again'/'Back in the USSA'

I've been a fan of MSTRKRFT ever since I laid my ears upon their 2006 debut release The Looks which upon first listen had me changing my underpants. Then in 2009 the boys released their 2nd LP Fist of God which again had me creaming which then led to another changing of the underpants. Just recently, my two favorite Canadians Jesse F Keeler and AI-P aka MSTRKRFT have released two brand new singles from their as of yet untitled 3rd LP. I'm kinda scared actually. I'm really tired of having to change my damn underpants every time I listen to their music. It's totally worth it, just really messy. Anywhoo...
MSTRKRFT's two new songs, 'Beards Again' and 'Back in the USSA' are totally killer and will get you on the dance floor in no time. Your head might hurt a tad after listening but it's that good kind of hurt. Listen to the songs below and make sure to visit the MSTRKRFT website to download the songs for free!

New film from Mr. Oizo premieres in Seattle

French electro mastermind Mr. Oizo aka Quentin Dupieux not only makes the freshest beats around town, and happens to be friends with a really hip puppet but he is also a film director. A film director who makes some of the quirkiest films ever made ever. Check the trailer for his 2007 film Steak and tell me you don't agree...
If Steak is any kind of intriguing then you absolutely have to check out Quentin's newest film Rubber,
which will be making its Seattle premiere April 8th-14th at the Northwest Film Forum. The film features music from Mr. Oizo and Gaspard Auge of Justice and is about a tire that kills. Yep. A tire that kills. Below is a bit about the film...
RUBBER is the story of Robert, an inanimate tire that has been abandoned in the desert, and suddenly and inexplicably comes to life. As Robert roams the bleak landscape, he discovers that he possesses terrifying telepathic powers that give him the ability to destroy anything he wishes without having to move. At first content to prey on small desert creatures and various discarded objects, his attention soon turns to humans.

Interview with RYAT; Chop Suey show tonight!

Completely amazing Philly-based guy/girl duo RYAT are playing the Chop Suey tonight along with Reporter and Glitter Bang and you really should check them out if you know what's good for ya. Christina Ryat is a multi-instrumentalist who uses live electronics, instruments, pedals, and software to manipulate and loop her full layers of songs and then you have Tim Conley who works the guitar, synth and bass as well as showing off his skills with a laptop. These guys have just released their mind altering album Avant Gold, they've been featured in the pages of NYLON and Self-Titled, they just got back from SXSW, they have a Daytrotter session coming up and had the track 'Not For This Lifetime' (Botony Remix) from their Avant Gold Remixed album premiere on RCRD LBL. Whew! These two are hot.
RYAT were kind enough to stop by for a chit and a chat and couldn't have been cooler. Check the interview below and learn about the time RYAT kicked it at Flying Lotus' pad, a high school food fight that was awesome, how their records Avant Gold and Avant Gold Remixed came to be and so much more! Oh! The three of us also sing some karaoke to the theme song to The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Bam.

Concours d' Elegance play Tractor Tavern this weekend!

That's right. Seattle's very own electro pop group Concours d' Elegance are playing this weekend with Pickwick and Boat and you should check it! Concours d' Elegance have some of the smoothest, sexiest, set your heart on fire songs that will prompt you (inbetween dancing your ass off of course) to try to get someone pregnant on the dancefloor. I've seen it happen. There have been some line-up changes since I had the chance to chat with them about one year ago but the music remains the same. Completely awesome.
Not only are Concours d' Elegance playing this Friday at the Tractor Tavern but it's also Boat's Cd Release Show and Pickwick’s 7in Release! Sounds like a great night to me.
Make sure to visit Concours d' Elegance's website for free music downloads, exclusive photo's and video and oh so much more.
Also, go here to check out their latest EP. You won't regret it.
